Art Club by Heidi Middleton

Regarding fashion, I’ve often thought we have a great thing going on here in Aus. Perhaps an effortless undone quality?  We definitely make it our own, a balance between beauty and comfort. Nature and the practical ooze into our style. I love seeing the move being made towards sustainable fashion and i’m always on the look out for what’s brewing in Australian Fashion.

Heidi Middleton’s Art Club popped up in Mosman last week and I went along to view her new pieces, some pre loved vintage and previous collections too.

A spontaneous pop up is great, it goes against the exhausting fashion routine, allowing Heidi to be free to share her new creations as they come to her.

Heidi’s clothes are made locally, in Sydney to minimize carbon emissions and are cut from leftover and recycled fabrics.

What I personally find interesting about Heidi, is that she started reinventing the business of fashion before Covid-19 hit (Art Club launched in 2018). Fashion was already in need of a change and Heidi wasn’t afraid to slow her fashion creation down and embrace a smaller sustainable fashion business.

I was so excited to find a new piece for myself, a Hermes Asymmetric Pleated Cotton And Lamé Middi Skirt’ and I’m wearing it now with my white sneakers.
